I just got back from Europe last night. I was there for a month, just me and my girlfriend. We just graduated high school in june so this was our post-graduation celebration. It was a LOT of fun! started in London, then to Ireland, then Denmark, then Holland, then Paris and then once more to London. Luckily we were in Holland during the bombings. It was scary though, as we had taken those same trains just a couple weeks before. But we had fun. Although i must say Paris sucked. REALLY hot, no free water anywhere, REALLY expensive food everywhere (at one restaurant i got a large coke, one litre, and it cost 14 euros! it was 2 euros MORE than my meal!!!), soem not-so-friendly people, and so on. Everywhere else was fun though. Perhpas the most memorable part of the trip, however, was going to Guilfest, a music festival in Guildford, England, just a little ways outside of London. IT WAS AWESOME!!! there were a couple bands at first that weren't too good, but we just walked around and drank beer during them. Then the Proclaimers came on. They were alright. Then Alabama 3, they were wierd but cool and kinda funny. i liked them. Good live performance. And finally... The Pogues! it was the coolest show i've ever been to. I still can't believe i got to see them! watching Shane was hilarious, such a crazy drunk fellow. we took around 20 pics of them, but we still need to get the film developed so i'm crossing my fingers that at least some of them turn out. if they do maybe i can scan some and post them. Seeing the Pogues, one of my favorite bands, was the perfect way to end the trip. It's nice to be home now, but i'm really going to miss being able to go into pubs and have a few pints whenever i feel like it (i'm only 18), especially the Guiness in ireland. it was delicious. Anyway i'm rambling and i'm sure this post is actually quite boring so i'll shut up now.
